I did my best to actually post on a ThuRsday this week, even if I am down to the wire!
When I began my baby registry one of the first things my sister told me to register for was a bottle warmer. It sounded like a good idea to me until I was walking around the local Babies R Us and I came upon a water warmer.
After some research, I chose to register for the Baby Brezza Perfect Temp Water Kettle.
Why you ask?
All my research stated that you should not put a bottle in the microwave to warm it up, which can cause hot spots and burn baby’s mouth. FYI – that’s NOT GOOD.
So the next option was to purchase a bottle warmer. (Because warming water on the stove and then placing the bottle in it was not an option). But the thought of having to wait for a bottle to warm when my baby girl was hungry didn’t sound fun, I ruled this option out.
The Baby Brezza Water Kettle is very easy to use. You open the lid and fill up the kettle, with a maximum of 51 ounces.
You place it on the base and turn the power on.
There is a water light indicator to tell you if the water is the perfect temperature. Perfect being 98 degrees. If the water is too cool, it is red, meaning don’t use. If the water is the perfect then it is blue and ready.
The kettle is easy to pour. It took a bit of practice for us since our bottles have angled necks.
Cleaning needs to be done carefully as you do not want to get water on the bottom where it connects with the base so do not immerse the kettle in water.
The kettle needs to be connected to a power source, so you will need to keep in mind where you would like to place it (kitchen, baby’s room, or bathroom) and the closest electrical socket.
This product is not an essential item to raising a baby, but it sure is helpful. It helps making bottles, especially in the middle of the night, a lot simpler. If you’ve got the extra money or someone willing to purchase it from your registry, I say go for it!
If you are a bottle using parent, how do you warm your bottles?
I have been looking for one of these as they are no longer being sold. Any chance you’d want to sell yours? I know kind of weird, but this is just what I need for when my baby goes to the grandparents place and I won’t pack the breeza pro formula machine.
Not a weird question at all, thanks for asking! I did keep this product on the chance that we had another baby, which we did and are currently using for our 9 month old. So we’ll be holding on to it a bit longer.
Darn it!! Thank you Monica! Well he’s only 4 months old so keep me in mind……. 🙂 Thank you for replying.
i was able to find one on eBay. i asked that the seller send me a video of it in use to prove that it still works. it was a great investment.
Awesome Trish! Great idea to ask for a video too. I’ve never thought of that before. Enjoy your water kettle!
