Week 8/52

Standard

I was very excited to learn of the 52 week project.  I’m a few weeks behind, but would love to catch up and post on a weekly basis.  It’s amazing how quickly my baby girl is growing and think viewing a special picture each week will be a great way to capture this amazing time.

Week 8:

Week 8 of 52

This week I was reminded through my weekly email from What to Expect that tummy time is important.  I tried something a little different today and used our mombo pillow to prop up  Baby Girl.  I put it on this big chair in her room so that her and I could be face to face with her, thought she might like this better than on the floor.  As soon as I had her up on the chair, our cocker, Lizi, jumped up next to Baby V.  Somehow I managed to get this great shot.  Lizi always poses when I get out the camera and she decided she should be in Baby V’s picture today.  I LOVE it! 52 Week Project

Standard

The other day I came across a project that sounds like fun.  I found it in my FB newsfeed from the Disney Baby blog, Capturing Memories: The 52 Project.   It originates from a blog: Che & Fidel.  It involves taking a picture of my baby girl each week and “capturing an expression, an emotion, a gesture” (Jodi Wilson, 2013).  It’s been amazing to see much how much baby girl has changed since she was born.  I think this will be a fun project, so although I’m a few weeks behind, I think I have plenty of pictures of choose from and I can catch myself up to speed!  My goal will be to post my weekly photos on Sundays from the previous week.

Happy viewing!!

Rock N Play

I guess I’m down to the wire today for my ThuRsday Review.  Today’s review is on an item that David and I found to be essential to our newborn’s comfort and helped us get some sleep at night (in addition to our Snuza), the infamous Rock N Play.    Read the rest of this entry

Baby Movement Monitor Review

Snuza GoA few days after our newborn was home I suddenly became paranoid that she would stop breathing in her sleep and I wouldn’t know it. I instantly went online and reviewed the options for movement monitors and chose the Snuza Go for our little one. Read the rest of this entry

When did I last feed or change my baby?: A Baby Journal Review

baby tracking journalWelcome to the first ThuRsday Review!  Read on for a review of a baby item that is used daily in our household.

Hours and days blur together when you add a newborn into your life. The Newborn Baby Tracker allows for parents to track when baby eats, sleeps, plays, soils diapers, takes medicine and more.

In our tech savvy world, some parents may choose an app for their smart phone, but for our family a good old fashioned pen and paper have been the way to go.  When our baby wakes us at 1, 2 or 3 o’clock in the morning crying the last thing we think to grab is our cell phone. We place the journal on the dresser in the baby’s room and then the next person to go and check on her can see what she may need – diaper change, bottle, burp, etc. It’s also helpful when we have someone else watching baby, we don’t have to worry about them not having an app and having to track info on a random piece of paper.
