When did I last feed or change my baby?: A Baby Journal Review

Standard

baby tracking journalWelcome to the first ThuRsday Review!  Read on for a review of a baby item that is used daily in our household.

Hours and days blur together when you add a newborn into your life. The Newborn Baby Tracker allows for parents to track when baby eats, sleeps, plays, soils diapers, takes medicine and more.

In our tech savvy world, some parents may choose an app for their smart phone, but for our family a good old fashioned pen and paper have been the way to go.  When our baby wakes us at 1, 2 or 3 o’clock in the morning crying the last thing we think to grab is our cell phone. We place the journal on the dresser in the baby’s room and then the next person to go and check on her can see what she may need – diaper change, bottle, burp, etc. It’s also helpful when we have someone else watching baby, we don’t have to worry about them not having an app and having to track info on a random piece of paper. Product Reviews

Whenever it’s time to make a purchase that will impact the quality of our family life, I spend hours poring over the internet reading reviews and price checking (just ask my husband).  Over time, I’ve come to realize that if reading others’ reviews impacts my purchases I should take the time to publish reviews as well.  Read the rest of this entry

Sewing a Dog Bed

Dog BedI purchased my sewing machine in July so I could learn how to sew and make items for my upcoming baby.  After various baby projects for my friends and their newborns, I decided to focus on a different subject, my chicas.

Ever wondered what to do with old pillows?  This dog bed project from Joyful Abode seemed to be the perfect solution to my desire to recycle old pillows and provide comfort to my fur babies.

Items needed:

  • 2 pillows
  • 1 curtain panel
  • 1 mattress pad

Baby Sex Reveal

Standard

Today’s the day!  After filling my bladder with water and a bit of orange juice (something I read online), David and I drove to the doctor’s office for our Ultra Sound.

I was worried that baby would try to hide his/her sex, but we didn’t have to wait long.  The very first image that came up was from the baby’s behind and we received our news.

Pregnancy Announcement

Standard

When David and I found out we were pregnant we were both excited and scared.  It happened a lot quicker than we had anticipated and I took two pregnancy tests just to be sure.

It was a bit nerve wracking to keep it a secret, but we didn’t want to begin sharing with everyone until we’d seen the doctor and were at or close to our 12 week mark.

In order to keep myself occupied, I began brainstorming/researching ideas for announcing our pregnancy.
